TENNESSEE VALLEY, Ala. (WHNT) – As storms rolled across the Tennessee Valley last night, our crews rolled into action.
A young Limestone County family lost their mobile home to what appeared to be straight line winds.
WHNT News 19’s Al Whitaker raced through the worst of the storms to make it to the Big Nance Mobile Home Park, just below Wheeler Dam in Lawrence county, in time to see firefighters rescue several families from their damaged trailers.
But some of the first damage reports came out of Lawrence County where a number of campers and mobile homes were destroyed. And that’s where we begin, with WHNT News 19’s Al Whitaker.
Red Bank Volunteer Firefighters had to cut their way to this trailer to free the couple inside. Downed power lines prevented them from leaving by a back door. They were okay.
