HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Strong storms are moving across the Tennessee Valley.  A widespread severe weather event is not expected, but we’re seeing a lot of rain and frequent lightning.

Power Outages:

Crews with Huntsville Utilities are also responding to several scattered power outages across Madison County.  As of 8:25 a.m. there’s a large outage in the Chase/Buckhorn area, along with several smaller outages in the Hazel Green area, central Huntsville, the City of Madison, and the Owens Cross Roads area.

Crews are working to address each outage area as quickly and safely as possible. However, due to the dangerous weather conditions, power restoration may take longer than normal until weather improves in the area.
